Introduction

Yoga is an ancient practice that originated in India. The word Yoga means union, that is, the union of body, mind, and soul. In today’s busy and stressful life, yoga plays a very important role in keeping us healthy and peaceful. Yoga is not only a form of exercise; it is a way of living that helps us maintain physical fitness, mental calmness, and emotional balance.

Yoga mainly includes Asanas (postures)Pranayama (breathing exercises), and Meditation. When these are practiced regularly, they help a person live a disciplined, healthy, and positive life.

Importance of Yoga in Daily Life

In modern times, many people suffer from stress, tension, lack of sleep, and health problems. Students and teachers also face pressure because of studies and work. Yoga helps us to reduce stress and bring peace to the mind. It improves concentration, increases energy, and keeps the body active.

Yoga also helps in developing self-discipline, patience, and positive thinking. By practicing yoga daily, we can control our emotions, improve our behaviour, and live a more balanced life. That is why yoga is important for everyone, especially for students.

The International Day of Yoga is celebrated on 21st June every year. This day reminds people all over the world about the importance of yoga for a healthy and peaceful life. It shows that yoga is a valuable gift of India to the world.
